Extremely Disappointed – Potential Patient Abandonment & Poor Communication
I don’t normally leave reviews, but this experience warrants serious attention—especially for anyone seeking continuity of care and professionalism from Lovely OBGYN.
I originally scheduled an appointment with Dr. Lovely back in January for March 28, 2025. When I called to confirm, I was told I had been booked with a nurse practitioner instead. I made it clear that I specifically requested Dr. Lovely, so they rescheduled me for April 30.
On the day of my appointment, the front desk staff was professional and Dr. Lovely was wonderful. She explained that I needed further testing to rule out ovarian cancer, including a sonogram and a follow-up visit in two weeks. I also asked if a urine sample was needed for a medication refill. The medical assistant told me no, so I left. Five minutes later, I received a call saying they did need a sample. I agreed to come back that Friday to provide it.
But the next day—just 24 hours after my appointment—I was called and told Dr. Lovely could no longer see me because she was “over capacity.” I was stunned. Not only had I just seen her, but my care plan was left incomplete. I was told there was “nothing they could do,” despite the fact that this appointment had already used up my yearly insurance-covered visit.
I then called back to speak with the office manager. She was courteous at first—until I mentioned that according to Georgia law, medical providers must give 30 days’ notice and refer you to another provider before ending the patient relationship. That’s when her tone changed. She told me she wouldn’t call me back and claimed I was being rude. Let me be clear: I was firm, yes, but not disrespectful. I was advocating for my health after being dropped without warning, in the middle of testing for a potentially serious condition.
Later, I received a notification that a prescription had been sent in—without any call or explanation of what it was. When I called the office, they said they couldn’t speak to me because I had “a lawyer”—which was a lie. I had only consulted an attorney to understand patient abandonment laws.
Days later, I received a certified letter falsely claiming I was dropped due to rudeness. Meanwhile, they billed my insurance for a visit that resulted in zero follow-up care or diagnostics.
This was not only a waste of my insurance benefits—it was an emotionally exhausting, unprofessional experience. No patient deserves to be abandoned mid-treatment, especially without notice or a proper referral.
If you’re looking for a provider that values professionalism, legal compliance, and patient safety—this may not be the place. I’ve submitted a formal complaint to the Better Business Bureau and will be pursuing this further if necessary.
